If your book includes transliteration of biblical Hebrew or Greek, please follow the "General-Purpose" tables for transliteration in The SBL Handbook of Style (Peabody, Mass.: Hendrickson, 1999), 28-29 (5.1.2 for Hebrew, with the exception of ` for ayin instead of '; 5.3 for Greek). An adjusted version of those tables is available from P&R upon request. To show macrons for etas and omegas, underline e and o, like so: e and o. The typesetter will convert the underlines to macrons.

Here are the transliteration tables to use for manuscripts submitted to P&R.
